Guidance for our Community

Posted in Announcements

Dear ENPH Community,

In light of the global response to the coronavirus and the Georgetown campus shutdown, we wanted to reach out and clarify what our plans are going forward, point you towards some resources, and offer an opportunity to start a dialogue.

ENPH Students:  After careful consideration and in light of the COVID-19 crisis, we have decided to delay the launch of the MA in Engaged & Public Humanities until Fall, 2021. As many of you know, the crisis has resulted in an inability to pursue face-to-face learning for the foreseeable future and possibly into the fall semester. Our program is highly dependent on our ability to help you develop strong relationships with public humanities institutions in the Washington D.C. area. Clearly these are extremely difficult to facilitate using distance learning platforms alone. Moreover, many of you are international students and we anticipate continuing delays in visa application procedures over the course of the next six months.  We believe that this situation will stabilize over the coming year, allowing us to launch a face-to-face program that offers full access to faculty resources, to your cohort of students, and to rich internship opportunities. Please stay in touch and check our website for Dispatches from the Director and staff as well as our schedule of webinars over the coming months. I am also happy to speak with you individually to respond to your questions and concerns. You can reach me at templek@georgetown.edu

We very much hope that you will come to Georgetown and work with us in the fall of 2021.

Prospective ENPH Students: We are currently accepting applications for the Fall 2021 semester. You can apply here. For more information, please visit our website.

Certificate Applicants: The Summer 2020 Certificate program has been canceled. Please check back for news about Summer 2021.

QUESTIONS?  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at publichumanities@georgetown.edu, or templek@georgetown.edu. We are always eager to talk with you and can arrange personal conferences over zoom or phone or answer queries on email.

We are following events closely and will continue to reach out over the coming year.
