ICYMI: ENPH Student Raquel Burgett Featured in Georgetown News Item!
ENPH Student Raquel Burgett (G’25) was featured by Georgetown University in a news piece ahead of Veterans Day this month to highlight how Georgetown students are taking advantage of the Yellow Ribbon Program, an agreement between higher education institutions and the US Department of Veterans Affairs that helps fund tuition for veterans.
Burgett said that she chose Georgetown’s Engaged and Public Humanities program (ENPH) because she appreciated its interdisciplinary approach to the humanities.
“I am a woman. I am a veteran. I was in intelligence. I really like theater. There are a lot of pieces of me that intersect in places where I often feel like I’m the only one,” Burgett said. “Georgetown provided an incredible intersection to satisfy all of those different pieces of me.”
Burgett previously served as a Spanish Language analyst countering drug cartels in Latin America. Because of YRP’s support, she “feels invested” in Georgetown, and ENPH is so happy to have her as part of our program!
