Farewell to the Class of 2022

Dear ENPH Class of 2022,

I want to express my excitement about our gathering on Thursday 18 August to celebrate the accomplishments of the students who are completing the program this summer, and also to celebrate together the program itself, the completion of its inaugural year, and of all of you for your contributions to its success.

Congratulations to those of you who have completed your internship experiences and turned in your journals and reports, and to those of you who have completed your work-based Public Humanities Reports.

And best of luck to all of you who are now completing your capstone projects!

I can’t wait to see what you produce, and hope that you will want to share yours with our community at our gathering on the 18th.

That will also be an opportunity for those of you finishing to let us know where life is taking you next, if you’d like.

And since we’re online, please do invite your family and friends to join us?

I’m happy to say that Professors Temple and Hartmann-Villata will likely be able to join us, as well as some of the program’s core faculty.

Christine will provide us with a Zoom link for the gathering soon, so please look for that.

Since becoming Director of the program it’s been deeply gratifying, humbling even, to meet all of you and hear about your work this past year, and also very exciting to see people’s reactions when I tell them about the program and the many ways it hopes to change the humanities from within in the hopes of making the humanities newly effective in how we contribute to the creation of a better, brighter world for all of us.

Your efforts this past year have provided our program with a great foundation from which to build on that promise, and I couldn’t be more grateful to you all.
