The Master of Arts in Engaged & Public Humanities offers multiple pathways for you to fulfill your interdisciplinary and experiential learning requirements, including full- and part-time options.

While this includes general guides, you have the flexibility to complete requirements throughout the year with program approval. We are committed to partnering with each student to develop a plan of study tailored to individual goals and needs.

Full-time course schedule

Following this track, you can complete the Engaged & Public Humanities master’s program in one year. The choice to complete either the mentored internship or a public humanities report will result in slight variations to your course schedule. Although this plan of study schedules these requirements during the summer term, you may fulfill them in the fall or spring semesters if an opportunity arises. You can work with the program to reconsider your plan of study.

Part-time course schedule

As a part-time student, you can finish the Engaged & Public Humanities program in two years. The choice to complete either the mentored internship or a public humanities report will result in slight variations to your course schedule. If you choose the internship option, you can spread the work and the corresponding courses over two terms. While most students complete the internship over two summers, you may also fulfill the requirement during the fall and spring semesters. If you are approved for a public humanities report, you can complete it in your final summer term.
